If you like Motown and you liked the Temptations this show is a must see while visiting Pigeon Forge. I've seen the show several times and can't wait until March 12, 2010 for their return.

In the 1960’s, the Temptations gave music lovers fair warning: “Get ready, ‘cause here I come.” Now the music of one of Motown’s iconic singing groups has indeed arrived, and it’s playing live in the Smokies at the new Smoky Mountain Theater in Pigeon Forge.

The theater’s headline attraction is a musical tribute to the Temptations starring Nate Evans, who began performing with original vocalists David Ruffin, Dennis Edwards and Eddie Kendricks. For this newest tribute to the Motown legends, Evans has assembled a lineup of singers that is electrifying audiences nightly with nearly two solid hours of Temptations gold, spanning some 50 albums and 50-plus top 10 singles. Throughout the show, Evans shares not only his talents but also his memories of working with the group’s original members. “We saw a niche for bringing something completely different to the Pigeon Forge market,” says Ron Layher, producer of the Smoky Mountain Theater. “Motown music is making a resurgence, and there’s nothing else like it in this area.” The show takes place in the newly remodeled 785-seat Smoky Mountain Theater (formerly Smoky Mountain Jubilee) on the Parkway. There’s even a dance floor for audience members who want to “hum along and dance,” as the group once sang. After each show, Evans and company stick around to meet their guests and sign autographs. The Temptations perform six nights a week at 7:30 p.m. through December 20. For ticket info, call 865-774-5400.
